Top 5 Questions to Ask Before You Go Solar:

What Happens if I Need to Replace My Roof After Going Solar?

We always assess the condition of your roof at the initial site assessment. However, if your roof is suitable for solar but later needs to be replaced through an insurance claim the cost of  removal/reinstall can be included as part of the claim.

What is the difference between solar "surplus" and "production?"

"Production" is the total amount of energy that your system produces. Some of this energy will be used to power your home. The rest of it, or the "surplus" is sent back to the grid.

Do I Receive Credit for the Solar I Produce?

Utilities like CPS Energy and PEC have net metering programs that credit you for the "surplus" energy you send back to the grid. Each billing cycle, you are only charged for "net" kWh used: energy pulled from the grid - solar surplus. If your solar surplus is more than what you pulled from the grid, you will see a $ amount credit that rolls over to the next billing cycle.

What Happens if I Move?

This varies based on the way the system was purchased. When it comes to a solar loan, the most common options are to pay off the remaining balance with the sale of your home OR have the new owners take over the loan.

Is the Tax Credit Guaranteed?

Tax Credit eligibility is dependent on your tax liability. We recommend that all of our customers consult a tax professional to confirm their eligibility and the amount they will receive. As of right now, the 2020 Federal Solar Tax Credit is 26%.
